Wonder how women with backgrounds in science and technology impact policy?
Interested in the role ethics play in science and technology policy?
Want to learn how to shape the future direction of policy research in your fields?
The Women & Science/Technology Policy Seminar brings you behind the scenes of official Washington, introduces you to women policymakers in science and technology and allows you to observe the system at work.
This seminar is designed for women students majoring in science and technology and provides the opportunity to explore the public policy dimensions of their fields. However, the program is open to all students who have demonstrated a strong interest in science and technology issues.
"This seminar exceeded my expectations because we met so many prominent women involved in science/technology policy. Before I came here, I knew I was interested in science policy, but now I feel empowered to do something about it. " "Before I participated in PLEN, I knew I was interested in science policy, but now I feel empowered to do something about it. I feel I have a better sense of what is happening in the field and what I can do to make a difference." |
2006 Women & Science/Technology Policy participants discuss current issues with Dr. Vivian Pinn, Director of the Office of Research on Women's Health at the National Institutes of Health. |
