PLEN... "The best bargain in higher education!"
-- President, PLEN member institution
PLEN prepares students to make a difference in the world.
PLEN programs expand students' thinking about careers in public leadership and motivate them to become actively engaged in the public policy arena.
PLEN provides students with a powerful network of women leaders, who will continue to advise and support their development.
PLEN Faculty Representatives gather for picture after meeting with staff in the Office of the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, during PLEN's Annual Meeting.
PLEN Member Institutions Recieve...
Priority Admission, Scholarships and Program Discounts
Students from PLEN member colleges and universities receive priority admission to programs and pay 40% less in program fees than students from non-member schools. Qualified students at PLEN member institutions receive preferential admission to the Hansard Society Scholars Programme in London, which places students in internships with members of Parliament.
Student Recruitment
Member colleges publicize the opportunity to participate in PLEN's Washington programs to prospective students in their admissions efforts. PLEN colleges receive recognition for their commitment to educating women for public leadership through PLEN's representation at professional meetings and during PLEN's programs where students interact with women leaders.
Professional Development
Faculty and staff at PLEN colleges exchange expertise in civic engagement and women's leadership and learn from policy leaders at the Annual Membership Meeting in Washington, DC. Faculty and staff are also invited to attend PLEN programs with their students at no cost.
